Bardic Update 2: October 2023

Hello! So, I disappeared in the month of September... Sorry about that. But I am back!

Where The Bard Went

I hit a wall this month. Mental health is something I have struggled with since high school, and despite successfully conquering several challenging situations, including military PTSD, depression, and many failures in life, I am by no means fully healed. Therefore, this last month, I found myself in a hole, numbing out the world and ignoring what makes me productive and happy. This struggle is a rut I have fallen into several times over the past decade. In the past, I would take weeks and months being unproductive and living in a spiral of anxiety. It is a struggle. But I am getting better, improving, and taking steps to better myself. Therapy, mindfulness practice, and surrounding myself with people who challenge me are all things that I have found to help improve my quality of life, but I do stumble and fall. We all will stumble and fall. But getting up again and keeping on is the first step to healing, which is why I am reinvigorating the Brazen Bard site and stepping back into the realm of three blogs a week.

What I Am Working On Outside Of The Brazen Bard

Despite taking a break from blogging for myself, I am still working and doing blogging as a profession. Moreover, I have been crafting a campaign world and will be diving into a new DMing experience with new people as we dive into a Feywild-based adventure. I will post my first iteration of the campaign map sometime this month. Beyond gaming, I will see my best friend, celebrate my daughter's birthday, and dress up for Halloween (plus my yearly watchthrough of the Nightmare Before Christmas), all things I am incredibly excited about.
